Ruth Lovell Stanners is a Canadian politician, who served as the mayor of Owen Sound, Ontario.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, she worked for the Children's Aid Society in London before moving to Owen Sound and becoming a real estate agent. She was first elected to Owen Sound City Council in 1994, and became mayor of the city in 2003. While in office, she married physician Bruce Stanners in June 2008.

She was also the Ontario Liberal Party candidate in Bruce—Grey in the 1999 provincial election, but lost to incumbent MPP Bill Murdoch.

She was narrowly defeated by Deborah Haswell in the 2010 municipal election.
