The Russian national under-20 football team, formerly known as the Soviet national lads football team was the under-20 (for FIFA U-20 World Cup) and under-19 (for UEFA Under-19 Championship) football teams of the Soviet Union. It ceased to exist on the breakup of the Union, and was succeeded by the Russian national under-20 football team

Following the realignment of FIFA's youth competitions in 1977, the USSR Under-20 team was formed. The team had a good record, winning the competition once, reaching the final once, but failing to qualify for the last twice on 8 occasions.

After the dissolution of the USSR (on December 26, 1991), the senior team played out its remaining fixtures, which were the finals of Euro 92. Because the USSR U-20s had, by December 26, already failed to qualify for their version of the 1993 FIFA World Youth Championship.
