Rooties Pump Room was a restaurant located just north of the University's North Campus in Buffalo, New York and was one of three restaurants that claimed to have invented the "Buffalo-Style Chicken Wing", also known as the "Buffalo Wing". Before the Pump Room went out of business its management claimed to have introduced the recipe in the 1950s. Two rival restaurants dispute this: Duff's, on Sheridan Drive in nearby Amherst, and the Anchor Bar, whose claim dates back to 1964.

Rudy's Pump Room was primarily a sawdust-covered floor bar known for its old-fashioned hand pump beer draft system, which has come back into vogue as cask-conditioned beer has found a new market thanks to microbreweries.
