Roosevelt Road (Chinese: 羅斯福路; pinyin: Luósīfú Lù) is a north-south avenue and part of provincial highway 9 in Taipei, Taiwan, connecting the Zhongzheng, Da'an and Wenshan District towards Xindian District, New Taipei, in south of the metropolitan area. It is named in memory of Franklin D. Roosevelt, President of the United States, making it the only street named after occidental figures in Taipei, excluding the now defunct MacArthur Thruway. South of Gongguan, the road was built along the route of Xindian Line, a TRA line that closed in 1965.

Transport

Roosevelt Road passes through a number of commercial districts, schools, and some government units. In southern suburbs like Xindian and Jingmei, it is the major access for commuters to get to the downtown, the road is therefore become an arterial way in the city, with heavy traffic at peak hour.

After the former TRA railway, Roosevelt Road is now served by MRT Xindian Line, a Taipei metro route running underground. On street level, two bus lanes are laid in the middle of the road, providing bus riders fast service, keeping it from crowded traffic.
