Rohit Viswanath is a researcher in public policy and a media commentator. He was the editor of 'Insight from India on Politics, Economics & Strategy'. He was associated with the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), an Indian think-tank, where he managed the Strategic and Economic Capacity Building Project (SECP).
As a journalist Viswanath has written editorial pages for The Times of India. He commented on foreign policy, international relations, political economy and business. He was the recipient of the CNN Young Journalist of the Year Award in 2006.
Rohit holds a master's degree in International Relations. He has participated in the archaeological excavations at Gilund, an important site of the Ahar-Banas Chalcolithic civilisation(2000-1700 BCE) in Rajasthan, India.
Rohit is a social worker and activist. He is the founder of the Parallel Government, a Movement that has adopted resolution for 'Sampurna Svarajya', through which it aims to empower citizens with absolute freedom and thereby bring forth the Age of Enlightenment.
