Design

The Rocket 22 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a fractional sloop masthead sloop rig, an transom-hung rudder and a retractable bulb fin keel. It displaces 1,600 lb (726 kg) and carries 600 lb (272 kg) of ballast.

The boat has a draft of 5.67 ft (1.73 m) with the bulb keel down and 1.00 ft (0.30 m) with the keel retracted. It also features a retractable bowsprit for the large asymmetrical spinnaker.

The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 108 with a high of 138 and low of 93. It has a hull speed of 6.21 kn (11.50 km/h).
