Rock Your Indie Heart was a radio show which aired on WHCL from 1999 to 2003. The influential program provided an outlet for emerging artists via over-the-air play and in-studio performances. It is believed the program obtained its name from a Pavement concert poster. In 2003 the program spawned a music festival, the Rock Your Indie Heart! Music Festival, which was said to be "the biggest thing to happen to this quaint, scenic town [Clinton,NY] since the invention of the cow." The festival was host to one of The Dismemberment Plan's final performances having announced their break-up one month earlier and co-headliner Ted Leo and the Pharmacists.
