Robert Maxwell Dudgeon, CBE, DSO, MC, JP (20 February 1881 -6 Nov. 1962) was a distinguished Scottish soldier and policeman.

The eldest son of Colonel Robert Francis Dudgeon, CB, he was educated at Uppingham School and Loretto School. He joined the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders in 1901; and retired with rank of Brigadier-General in 1920. From 1920 to 1930 he was Governor of HM Prison Edinburgh; and from 1930 to 1945 Chief Inspector of Constabulary for Scotland.
