Sir Robert Burdet was a Parliamentary representative and Sheriff for Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

Career and Life

He was summoned to Parliament for Warwickshire and Leicestershire in 1320, 1325 and 1327 and served as Sheriff from 1328 to 1329.

Sir Robert married Elizabeth daughter and sole heiress of Sir Gerard de Camville from whom he gained Arrow and Seckington in Warwickshire.

Family and descendants

Robert was the nephew of Sir William Burdet of Loseby who represented Leicestershire in Parliament in 1297. Sir Robert and Elizabeth de Camville had the following issue:

  • Sir Gerard Burdet (d.abt 1349), of Arrow, Warks
  • Sir Robert Burdet of Bourton-on-Dunsmore, Warks
  • Isabel Burdet m. Sir John Berkeley of Wymondham, Leicestershire
  • Robert & Elizabeth are the ancestors to the Burdett baronets.
