Robert J. Auth (born July 4, 1956) is an American Republican Party politician from New Jersey who represents the 39th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly.

Auth received his B.A. from New York University with majors in History and Philosophy. He serves in the Assembly on the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee, Commerce and Economic Development Committee and the Education Committee. He is also the Chief Executive Officer at Plaza Travel and Insurance Services Ltd., a company he founded in 1985. In the past, he served as an aide to Senator Gerald Cardinale on insurance and economic matters and was a teacher for the North Bergen School District from 2004 to 2006. Auth also previously worked as an agency manager at the North Bergen Motor Vehicle Commission office. He is an aircraft pilot having flown since 1982. He and his wife Elsa have one grown son.

Auth is a resident of Old Tappan, where he is the Republican Party municipal chairman. Replacing Bob Schroeder who did not run for re-election, Auth won in the 2013 general election together with the rest of the Republican slate in the legislative district that included Gerald Cardinale in the New Jersey Senate and Assembly running mate Holly Schepisi. He was a delegate to the Republican National Committee in 2016. In the Assembly, he currently serves on the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee, Commerce and Economic Development Committee, and the Education Committee. On February 15, 2017 Auth moved his bill (A373) Expanding Joan's Law, Predators who molest and kill children under the age of 18 will serve life in prison without parole under legislation approved by the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Chris Christie on July 17, 2017. Other Auth Sponsored bills signed in to law include bills A374, Prohibits MVC from imposing duplicate license or identification card fee and digitized picture fee if duplicate is requested to reflect change in organ donor status. A3056, Requires DEP to establish voluntary guidelines for K-12 schools and institutions of higher education to reduce, recover, and recycle food waste; extends "Food Bank Good Samaritan Act" immunity protections to public and nonpublic schools. A3058, Establishes Farm to School Coordinating Council. A5045/S3352, Appropriates $71,700,224 from constitutionally dedicated CBT revenues and various Green Acres funds to DEP for local government open space acquisition and park development projects.
