Ritucharya, or Rutucharya, is a description of the seasonal regimens in the Hindu text Ayurveda.

Six ritu/seasons are described in Ayurvedic texts. They are Hemanta, Shishira (winter), Vasanta (spring), Grishma (Summer), Varsha (Rainy) and Sharada (Autumn). These texts contain diet and lifestyle-related discussions

Ṛtucharya

In Āyurveda, the goal is to protect health (Swasthyashya Swasthya Rakshanam). Only if one has failed at this is the focus to cure disease. The various rules and regimens (Charya) to remain healthy as the seasonal environment changes are called ṛtucharya. Most Āyurvedic texts mention these practices in the first few chapters to highlight their fundamental importance.
