The Ring Video Doorbell (previously known as Doorbot) is a smart doorbell, created by entrepreneur James Siminoff in 2012 that includes an infrared camera, and Wi-Fi connectivity. When the doorbell is pressed, the app begins a VOIP video call to connected smartphones, so that the owner can see and speak with whoever is at the door.

The Ring app has integrated Lockitron support, so that the door may also be remotely unlocked when the doorbell is rung.

The app for Ring doorbell currently available on iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Mobile.

Doorbot was crowdfunded via Christie Street, and raised US$364k of the $250k requested.
