Rick Parry (born 2 November 1987) is a New Zealand ice hockey player currently playing for the Adelaide Adrenaline in the Australian Ice Hockey League. He is also a member of the New Zealand national ice hockey team.

Playing career

Parry first played for the Botany Swarm of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL) in 2005. After a year out of the NZIHL Parry returned in 2007 when he signed with the West Auckland Admirals. He remained at with the Admirals for two seasons, playing in 21 games for the club. In 2009 Parry signed with his third NZIHL club, the Dunedin Thunder. Parry played for the Thunder until the end of the 2012 NZIHL season. Following the end of the season Parry moved to France and signed with Jokers de Cergy of FFHG Division 2. He competed in 20 games for Cergy, finishing with a goals against average of 4.09 in the regular season and 4.98 in the playoffs. After the end of the 2012-13 FFHG Division 2 season Parry travelled to Australia and signed with the Adelaide Adrenaline of the Australian Ice Hockey League for the 2013 AIHL season.

Parry was first selected to represent New Zealand in 2005 where he joined the national under-18 team to compete in the 2005 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III tournament being held in Sofia, Bulgaria. New Zealand finished in fourth place while Parry finished with a save percentage of 0.750. The following year Parry joined the national under-20 team to compete in the IIHF World U20 Championships. He finished the tournament with his worst statistics at any World Championships, recording a goals against average of 13.96 and a save percentage of 0.577. In 2008 Parry was selected for the national senior team to compete in the 2008 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament being held in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. In 2009 Parry the finished with the best goals against average and best save percentage at the 2009 IIHF World Championship Division III tournament being held in Dunedin, New Zealand, while New Zealand finished first and were promoted to Division II for the following year. In 2011 Parry again finished with the best goals against average and best save percentage at the 2011 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament. In 2013 Parry joined the national senior team for the fifth time to compete at the IIHF World Championships.
