Richard Neville

Richard Neville (12 October 1655 – 1 July 1717) was an English politician, Member of Parliament for Berkshire in seven parliaments.

Life

He was third son of Richard Neville (1615–1676) of Billingbear House in Berkshire, who had been a gentleman of the privy chamber and colonel of the forces to Charles I.

Richard jnr was educated at the Middle Temple (1673) and inherited Billingbear in 1678. He married Catharine, daughter of Ralph Grey, 2nd Baron Grey of Werke, soon afterwards and had three children: Grey Neville MP, Henry Neville MP and Catherine, the paternal grandmother of Richard Aldworth Neville, 2nd Baron Braybrooke.

He was first elected to Parliament in 1695 as MP for Berkshire and then re-elected a further six times, sitting until 1710.
