Richard Meredith Hart (1811–1864) was an American cattleman and politician. A native of Kentucky, he settled in Texas around 1833. After stints in the Texas militia (July–October 1836) and the Texas Rangers (March–September 1839), he became a cattleman operating at his peak out of Hunt, Navarro, Erath, Comanche, and Johnson counties. In 1846, he became one of the commissioners of the newly organized Hunt County. His fortunes declined drastically during the American Civil War.
