Richard Joyce (born 1966) is a British-New Zealand moral philosopher, known for his contributions to the field of meta-ethics. Joyce is a prominent anti-realist moral skeptic and is known in particular for his defence of both moral fictionalism and moral error theory.

He received a doctorate of philosophy from Princeton University in 1998, and lectured at the University of Sheffield until 2001, before taking up a research fellowship at the Australian National University in Canberra. In 2006 he took up an international senior research fellowship at the University of Sydney, and in 2010 he accepted a professorship at Victoria University of Wellington.

His major works include The Myth of Morality (2001) and The Evolution of Morality (2006).
