Richard Matthew Johnson (born (1988-09-01) 1 September 1988 in Solihull) is a former English cricketer who last played for Derbyshire. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper.

Johnson was educated at Solihull School, an historic school in the West Midlands.

Johnson made his cricketing debut for ECB Schools against an India Under-19 team, before making his Minor Counties Championship debut for Herefordshire in the same year. During 2007, and the beginning of 2008, Johnson has been a part of the Warwickshire Second XI side, and in May 2008, he made his debut in List A cricket in the FP Trophy.

Johnson made his first-class debut for Warwickshire against Cambridge UCCE later that month.

After 2 seasons with Derbyshire, Johnson made the decision to retire from professional cricket. In December 2014 it was announced Johnson would be returning to Warwickshire in the role of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach.
