Profiles

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. is a large American law firm founded in 1894. The firm serves as attorneys and business law counselors to public and privately held corporations, financial institutions, family-owned businesses, retirement plans, exempt organizations and individuals.

Firm History

In 1894 William Kaumheimer began to practice law in Milwaukee. In 1919, he formed a partnership with Reginald Kenney under the name of Kaumheimer & Kenney. Mr. Kaumheimer was president of the Milwaukee Bar Association in 1919 and 1920. In 1925, his son, Leon E. Kaumheimer, joined him; Mr. Kenney then left the firm and the firm name was changed to Kaumheimer & Kaumheimer. In 1938, after the death of William Kaumheimer, the firm of Kaumheimer, Alt & Likert was formed. The firm continued without any new partners or any continuing associates until 1949 when John Reinhart became associated with Kaumheimer, Alt & Likert. Roger Boerner joined the firm in 1954 and both Richard Van Deuren and Richard Norris arrived in 1956. In 1962, the firm changed its name to Kaumheimer, Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren & Norris.

The firm incorporated as a service corporation under the name of Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren & Norris, s.c. in 1969 and added "Rieselbach" to its name in 1974. In 1985, the firm's first female attorney and first female shareholder moved to Denver to lead Reinhart's office there. Reinhart expanded west into Madison and established an office there in 1993. Two more offices followed: Waukesha, WI in 2002 and Rockford, IL in 2005. Reinhart opened an office in Phoenix in 2011 and Chicago in 2012, bringing its total number of offices to seven.

Reinhart is now an international service corporation offering a range of legal services to small and large businesses, individuals, nonprofit organizations and other entities.
