The Red Line is the 28.3 kilometres (17.6 mi) north-south mass transit line of the Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is the first mass transit line built in southern Taiwan, started construction on October 24, 2001 and opened for service on March 9, 2008 with a month-long free ride service to April 6.

There is a plan to extend the line north to Hunei District. This would add 8 stations to the line.
