The Recorder of Deeds Building is an historic building located at 515 D Street N.W. Washington, D.C.

History

It was built between 1940 and 1943. There are many murals decorating the inside, produced by WPA artists. It was designed by Nathan C. Wyeth.

In 2010, the Recorder of Deeds, moved out, to be replaced by the Chief Financial Officer.

In 2011, there was some flooding that closed the building. There was an attempt to gain landmark status.
