Randy West (born 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is a noted American fine art photographer, perhaps best known for his distinctive and avant-garde use of the photographic medium, as seen across several series of his work *[1]. West is also on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts, and a director of the school's Master of Fine Arts program for photography, video, and related media.

Exhibitions

West is represented by the Bruce Silverstein Gallery in New York. Other individual exhibitions have appeared at the Jan Kesner Gallery in Los Angeles, the Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York, the Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco, the Houston Center for Photography, and as part of the Here Theater Project. His work has also appeared in group exhibitions, including exhibitions with the International Center for Photography, the San Diego Contemporary Art Museum, the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson*[2], and the Marlborough Gallery.

    The New York Times, Photography in New York, the Los Angeles Times, Artweek, and The Village Voice have each published reviews of West's work. His Seascape series was also published in Sea Change: The Seascape in Contemporary Photography, a publication from the Center for Creative Photography. West has also been recognized by the Hedda Stern Foundation, the City of Pasadena Cultural Arts, and the Ahmanson Foundation.
