Ramin Goudarzi, (born July 8, 1968) was the first Iranian professional basketball player who received a doctorate degree while he played for the Iran Junior National Team U-19 (1985) , Farvahar (1982-1991) and Iran National University team (1991). Goudarzi played for University of Iowa, Iowa Hawkeyes USA, 2002-2003. He played at the Small forward position, 1.80 cm (6') tall and weighs 194 lbs.

Goudarzi was trained by late Mohammad Hassan Zolfaghari. Goudarzi was drafted as first five Iranian basketball players to attend in the Universiade competitions, Sheffield, UK 1991.

Goudarzi earned doctorate degree in pharmacy from University of Tehran in 1993 and he was a post doctoral fellow at University of Iowa, department of pharmacology 2002-2003.

In 1985, due to his excellent performances in both education and sport, Goudarzi has been nominated as a notable alumni of Razi High School.

Goudarzi lives in San Jose, California since 1996. He previously worked for Rite Aid as a chief pharmacist, San Francisco. Currently, Goudarzi is the research arthritis director collaborating with School of Medicine, orthopedic surgery, University of California, Davis. Goudarzi published several high impact articles in filed of arthritis in PubMed.
