Rajendra Nagar (often called as Rajinder Singh Nagar) is a residential colony in Raxaul , Bihar. The name comes from Shri Rajendra Singh, the first manager of Biscomaun, Bihar. It is bordered by India - Nepal border opposite to Birgunj. It falls under Raxaul (Vidhan Sabha constituency).

Overview

It comprises two wards: Ward No. 1 and Ward No. 2. It is situated just near the Raxaul Railway Station and the Gateway to Nepal outside Birgunj. This residential area is just at 15 minutes walking distance from the Gateway to Nepal. It is one of the prime locations of the city as it is at walking distance from many important places of the city. It is also at walking distance from Duncan Hospital.

About Rajendra Singh

Rajendra Singh was born in a very reputed family of Kamshila, a village which falls under Baikunthpur, Bihar (Vidhan Sabha constituency) in the Gopalganj district, India. Late Rang Bahadur Singh was his father. He got his education from Rajput School and Rajendra College which is in Chhapra. He was always amongst the toppers and was a very meritorious student. He was married to Smt. Babuni Devi. He started his professional career in Indian Railways and then he was appointed as the First Manager of Bihar State Cooperative Marketing Union (Biscomaun) during its formation. He then worked at various districts in Bihar and became a very reputed personality for his social work and activities. He always helped the poor and needy. He supported countless people in their daughter's marriage and in their child's education. People tell that it is only because of him that many families are flourishing today. He was popularly known as Manager Sahab. This residential colony was named after him after his sorrowful demise on 16 December 1986 by the people of this colony to pay respect and tribute to this great personality.
