Railway Workers' Union (Open Lines) is the oldest & largest industry-wise trade union of Pakistan. It represents over 90,000 railway workers all over in Pakistan.It is the affiliate of International Transport Workers’ Federation London, which is the International Federation, representing more than 148 countries in different categories of transport. It is also an affiliate of All Pakistan Trade Union Federation.

History

It is the oldest union in Pakistan founded by veteran leader Mirza Mohammad Ibrahim (the founder of the trade union movement in India and Pakistan) in 1948. Famous poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz was the 1st elected Office Secretary of the Union.
