R v Pittwood, [1902] TLR 37, is a case in English criminal law relating to omissions. A railroad gatekeeper failed in his duty to properly open and close a level crossing gate, leading to the death of a driver after his train crashed into a horse and cart. The defendant was found guilty of manslaughter.
