Quad Learning, Inc. is a for-profit education service provider that collaborates with community colleges to provide enhanced student transfer success through the American Honors program. Quad Learning was founded in 2012 by Phil Bronner and Chris Romer.

Contents

The company provides collaborating colleges with a suite of educational development and delivery services focused on creating student transfer success.

In February 2013, Quad Learning launched with $11 million in funding. In April 2014, Quad Learning raised $10 million Series B funding from new and existing investors. In December 2014, Quad Learning CEO Phil Bronner was declared a winner of DCInno’s “50 on Fire” list of top innovators.

Business Model

Quad Learning is not a traditional for-profit education company because it does not confer or offer any degrees. Quad Learning provides collaborating community colleges with a cloud-based software-as-a-service platform, instructional design, faculty development, domestic and international recruitment and selective admissions, marketing services, student services, transfer network coordination, and infrastructural support and capital to deliver instruction to students. The approach includes a focus on student outcomes with small class sizes, career services, and transfer placements.

Students pay additional tuition and fees for the extra services received.

Collaborating Community Colleges

Community colleges that partner with Quad Learning to provide the American Honors program are:

  • Kilgore College, Texas
  • Jackson College, Michigan
  • Navarro College, Texas
  • Pierce College, Washington
  • Union County College, New Jersey
  • Mercer County Community College, New Jersey
  • Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana
  • Community Colleges of Spokane, Washington
  • 4-Year Transfer Network

Colleges and universities actively recruit American Honors program graduates for transfer through the American Honors Transfer Network. Through Quad Learning, member institutions make transfer agreements that may include assured admission for program graduates meeting certain criteria, priority application review, reserved spots, or good-faith articulation agreements, honors-honors transfer pathways, or other distinct considerations.
