Pyrausta comastis is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Meyrick in 1884. It is found in New Zealand. The habitat consists of dry grassy hills.
The wingspan is 11–13 mm. The forewings are ochreous-whitish, suffused with reddish ochreous. There is usually a dense blackish irroration forming a basal patch and broad fasciae following the first and second lines. The hindwings are ochreous-orange, with some scattered black scales anteriorly. There is a blackish line beyond the middle and a blackish hind marginal band. Adults have been recorded on wing in January.
