The Pune International Literary Festival (PILF) is an annual, literary festival organized in Pune, a mega city near Mumbai. Pune is a prominent educational centre, industrial hub and cultural capital of India.

PILF is the brain-child of Pune-based author, Dr. Manjiri Prabhu, who is also its founder and Festival Director. PILF is a three-day massive event. It first took place in 2013, at the MIT Kothrud Campus. In 2015, it took place at the YASHADA campus - Pune. A crowd of more than 7,000 + intellects openly interacted with about 125 speakers. Today, just in its fourth year, PILF has become the most popular and the only one of its kind 'lit-fest' in India.

PILF has the vision to engage, explore and experiment with all forms and genres of the written word. With over 100 panelist / authors, over 50 sessions (3-4 sessions in parallel, every hour) including workshops and a dynamic exhibition on world famous writer/s, PILF continues to offer an inspiring and interactive platform for writers, publishers, media, film-makers, artist, poets, film & TV writers and off-course, the readers. Last year PILF had an exhibition on Dame Agatha Christie, celebrating her 125th anniversary. This year (2016) PILF will showcase a wonderful dreamy exhibition on the life and work of the ever popular, children mystery and adventure story writer, Enid Blyton.

Another speciality of PILF is, every year the Festival also focuses on one particular social theme, helping to generate awareness. The topics covered are 'Animal Rights', 'Global Image of India' and now 'Children Rights'.

This year the event will take place again at YASHADA (Banner Road - Pune) and the dates are 2, 3 and 4 September 2016.

Keeping up to its tradition, the entry is open and free for all.
