Gaius Galerius

Publius Galerius Trachalus was a Roman senator who held the consulship in the year AD 68.

Hailing from Ariminum, Publius Galerius Trachalus was probably a descendant of the knight Gaius Galerius and served as Praefectus aegypti. He held the consulship in 68 when his colleague was Silius Italicus. He served Otho as an advisor during the Year of the Four Emperors (AD 69). During 78 and 79, he was governor of Africa proconsularis.

Trachalus was a noted Roman orator who was praised by Quintilian.
