Psychoanalysis: What Is It? is the first album by hip hop producer Prince Paul. The album marks Prince Paul's first turn as a solo artist after gaining recognition for producing De La Soul, among others, as well as being a member of the hip hop super group the Gravediggaz. The album was released twice, once by Wordsound Records and then the next year by Tommy Boy Records with a slightly different track listing and a different cover. This album is considered to be a concept album similar to most other Prince Paul releases. The album centers around Prince Paul visiting a psychiatrist, and all of the songs in some way relate to mental conditions.
