Project Superstar 2008 Season 3 Top 24

Project Superstar is back for more, contestants come all over Malaysia just hoping to get a spot of top 24. The show premiered on 9 February 2008 at 8.30pm on the TV Station 8TV.

Episode 1–9 February 2008

This episode showed the hosts and the judges going to 3 different locations to scout for their ideal 24 finalists, from good looking contestants to contestants who just want to impress the judges from their singing techniques. In this episode, one of the hopeful superstars was not very happy with the comment the judges gave, after which one of the hosts decided to give him another chance after pleading with the fellow judges.

Episode 2–10 February 2008

The hosts and judges travelled via airplanes again from the mainland Malaysia to the outskirts of Sabah to scout for more talents. Similar to the situation in Episode 1, one of the hopeful superstars was badly criticized by one of the judges, and one of the host pleaded to give him another chance.

Episode 3–16 February 2008

From Top 500 to Top 24, the most intense competition will reveal who will be given a chance to sing on the actual stage. Tears flow when some of the superstars will have to say goodbye to their family members as they have to concentrate on the show itself. The newly released top 24 also went outdoors for some shootings. Forfeits and cuts showed in this episode. In the end, all 24 have bonded through the games.

24 finalists acted and sung at the same time. This allowed the viewers to know more about the top 24.

Quarter Finals 1A

After 4 episodes of introduction, the competition has started. Rules for the competition was different from past seasons. Professional judges will take up 50% of the whole competition, while the remaining 50% will take up from the smses and calls. Each vote costs Malaysian ringgit $0.65. Only 4 will advance into next round, 2 will be eliminated.

Despite scoring 24 marks and ranked third in this round, votes from the public was not enough to keep Apple from staying in this competition, allowing the lower scorers, Pink and Liz to get through.

Quarter Finals 1B

Travis and Ken being the two lowest scorers were eliminated, scoring 23.5 and 22 respectively. Hau is the highest scorer in this round and in this competition to date, scoring 31 marks, allowing him to pass through to the next round. Judges were impressed at his performance.

Quarter Finals 2A

Nicole's rendition of 你给的 received good comments and garnered 27.5. Despite getting 24.0, Fiona was eliminated due to lack of popularity votes, together with Genie, who scored 22.5. Alice's score was the lowest, scoring 20.5; however, the votes helped her avoid elimination.

Quarter Finals 2B

All 6 exchanged blows on the group song 杀手 & 对手. Good looking contestants were not sparred from elimination this week; Alvin, who scored 23.5, and Isaac, who scored 24.5. The youngest male contestant, Kevin, was also one of the low scorers, scoring 24.0, just 0.5 points shy from Alvin's score; however, the votes pulled him out from elimination. Also Cliff and Eddie tied for scoring 28.0, making them the highest scorers in this round.

Quarter Finals 3A

Everyone has improved on their singing, only Kay, who scored 24.5, was not spared as she scored 0.5 marks lower compared to her last performance; however, her votes keep her qualified for the top 10 position. Low scorer Alice, who scored 21.5, will be joining Pink, who scored 25.5, who ranked second in this round in the upcoming revival round.

The two girls confirmed in the Top 10 are: May May and Kay

Episode 10–9 March 2008

Quarter Finals 3B

It was a tough fight between the guys as Will scored the highest in this round of 32.0. Compared to Hau last performance score of 31.0. The 2 lowest scorers Jac, who scored 22.0, and Elson, whose score is 25.5, will be fighting with the other 2 male contestants who will be eliminated next week for the upcoming revival round two weeks from now.

Episode 11–15 March 2008

Quarter Finals 4A

Ellen, who is the highest scorer, who scored 27.5, and Liz, who is the lowest scorer in this round, who scored 24.0, managed to clinch the top 10 position. Nicole and San, who scored both 25.0, were surprisingly eliminated as they are the middle scorers.

The top two females in this round who managed to enter the semi finals are Ellen and Liz.

Quarter Finals 4B

It is yet another surprising week of elimination, as Eddie, who scored 27.0 and is also the show's black horse, was eliminated alongside the youngest competitor Kevin. Hau made his mark again by scoring yet another high score of 32.5; Adrian, who scored 26.5 and is the lowest scorer in this round, managed to enter the semi finals because the votes saved him from elimination.

The two males who will qualify for the semi finals in this round are: Hau and Adrian.

Episode 13–22 March 2008

Revival Round (Female)

Only 1 will be able to revive and join the remaining 8 in the Top 10. Nicole and Pink, both highest scorer were just 0.5 marks away, when Nicole clinched 30.5 and Pink score 30.0. In the end Nicole was revived in the revival round.

Episode 14–23 March 2008

Revival Round (Male)

Anything can happen in this week's male revival round, while all the scores were near with each other, when Eddie scored 29.0, the other 3 showed no signs of giving up hope, however all 3 performed only a good show, leaving Eddie revived and will join Nicole, the female revival round winner and May May, Ellen, Liz, Kay, Cliff, Adrian, Will and Hau in the Top 10 at the Semi Finals.

Semi Finals 1A

Dance and fast songs aren't the top 10 strongest themes, Nicole managed to pull up a good show and get 30.5, Kay, Ellen and Liz showed much improvement in their singing, May May who also showed improvement were not spared from elimination, as she is the lowest scorer in this round clinching herself 26.0.

Semi Finals 1B

Things are much different compared with the females week of semi finals, Eddie who just got revived showed not much of an improvement, and scored the lowest in this round, only 25.0, Hau continued to win each of the judges hearts by getting 28.0, however Cliff were eliminated in this round, getting 26.5 par with Adrian, and this allows Eddie to pass through.

Semi Finals 2A

All four female contestants presented with their best singing techniques in this round; Nicole, who scored the highest the previous rounds, scored once again the highest of 28.5, while Ellen scored 28.0, 0.5 marks shy from Nicole's score; Liz, who was the lowest scorer of 26.0 in this round, was eliminated.

Semi Finals 2B

Things were way different from the females semi finals, it was a tough fight between the two strongest contestants namely Hau and Will, who scored 32.5 and 31.5 respectively, from the results show, the production team made this episode as the most shocking elimination ever, when the second highest scorer Will was sent home packing, allowing Adrian and Eddie to pass through.
