Although its budget was roughly $4.2 million it was never released. Although myth has arisen that Tatum's father Ryan O'Neal purchased the rights to the film to prevent its release, this is in fact untrue. The New Zealand producers of the film state that in actuality there was a dispute between the film's completion guarantor and 20th Century Fox and Fox elected not to release the film as it protected their financial status.
