Preston Island (67°48′S 68°59′W) is the largest of the Henkes Islands, lying off the south end of Adelaide Island. Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1963 for Frank Preston, British Antarctic Survey (BAS) officer in charge and surveyor at Adelaide station, 1961–62, and member of the first party to winter there.
