The President of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects is its chief executive officer and its representative to the Council of the Royal Institute of British Architects. The President is elected by the membership of the Society, usually for a term of two years. The President, as of 12 July 2012, is Alan Jones.

Awards, Emoluments and Prizes

The President grants awards and prizes to Northern Ireland students of architecture, notably the RSUA Silver Medal, RSUA Bronze Medal and the Alan Barnes Travelling Scholarship. While the President has input into the RSUA Design Awards, these are managed by a sub-committee of the RSUA Council and as such are outside his direct remit.
