Prendeville (also spelled Prenderville or Prendiville) is a surname of Irish origins. The name derives ultimately from the Flemish town of Brontegeest but migrated to Normandy some time before the 11th century. From there it moved to England with the Norman invasion of 1066 and onwards to Ireland with Strongbow's invasion. The name is found predominantly in County Kerry, Ireland although like many other surnames the Irish diaspora has led to it being spread around the world.
