Preeya Khanna is a music industry executive, specializing in artist management and development.

Career

Beginning her career at Montreal-based umbrella music company Donald K Donald, Preeya worked under Donald Tarlton as a licensing and production associate for DKD Events (Bon Jovi, The Eagles, U2, Arcade Fire, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, Canada Day on Parliament Hill) and as social media manager for Last Gang Records (Purity Ring, Metric, Death From Above 1979, Lights), Arts & Crafts Records (Broken Social Scene, Feist, Stars) and Aquarius Records (Sum 41, Corey Hart, Bif Naked, April Wine).

Upon graduating from Concordia University's communications program, she quickly moved up the company's ranks to become Associate Manager, working alongside Peter Wark and Gold Mountain Entertainment's Ron Stone to manage the established careers of Rickie Lee Jones, Ray Davies, Bob Schneider and the New York Dolls, as well as the budding careers of Joseph Arthur, Fistful of Mercy (Ben Harper, Joseph Arthur and Dhani Harrison), Grandtheft and Future People.

In 2011, Preeya moved to New York City, where while completing a master's at NYU, she worked as a Talent Booking, Wardrobe and Social Media Assistant for the Rachael Ray Show - still maintaining her associate manager position at Gold Mountain Entertainment and Donald K Donald.

In 2012, Preeya left Rachael Ray to pursue opportunities in the tech world, where she spent three months at YouTube's head offices in San Bruno working as an engagement program marketing manager. She moved back to New York city in the Fall, acting as a YouTube A&R rep for YouTube celebrity development and sponsorship opportunities.

Currently, Preeya is wrapping up her masters in New York City while working under Philip Moross for The Cutting Edge Group to expand their artist management and artist development divisions. The Cutting Edge Group is a leading international full-service provider of music for the film, television, video game and advertising industries. Preeya works with Cutting Edge's team and in partnership with television networks and film studios to develop, market and license Cutting Edge's songwriters, producers and artists music.
