Pratley Putty invented by South African, George Pratley in the 1960s. It is a strong adhesive putty.
History
According to the manufacturer's official history, Pratley Adhesives: "The product was developed as an insulator and also as an adhesive agent for fixing brass terminals which were located inside cast iron junction boxes".
This versatile putty originally called "Pratley's Plastic Putty" was carried by the Apollo 11 Eagle landing craft to the moon for its fixative qualities. It has also been used to halt the cracking in one of the Golden Gate Bridge's main supports.
