PostPoint is a business unit owned by An Post and is a retailer based network, founded in 2000, following the success of An Post in winning a contract to provide electronic top-ups to Eircell (now Vodafone Ireland) through their agent network as well as at post office counters. PostPoint has 3,000 agents in Ireland.
The services currently available through PostPoint are e-Top-ups, e-International phonecards, debit/credit card clearing services, bill payments (incl. TV licence payments), e-parking and business deposits and also manages the stamp agent retailing business for An Post as well. Future smartcard application opportunities are at an advanced state of development to facilitate utility re-change cards, transport ticketing, consumer/agent loyalty schemes and postal product/services.
PostPoint has been the principal innovator for electronic products & services and the provision of e-Top-ups through ePOS in the Republic of Ireland.
