Polyptychus carteri is a moth of the family Sphingidae. It is known from lowland forests from Sierra Leone to the Congo and Uganda.

The length of the forewings is 33–35 mm. The head and body are pale greyish brown with a dark median streak on the head and thorax. The forewings are pale greyish brown.
