Polynesia Point (60°43′S 45°36′W) is an ice-free point forming the north side of the entrance to Paal Harbour on the east side of Signy Island, in the South Orkney Islands. Surveyed in 1933 by DI personnel, and resurveyed in 1947 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS). Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1954 for the floating factory Polynesia, of the Rethval Whaling Co. of Oslo, which worked in the South Orkney Islands in 1913-14.
