Polyetherketoneketone

Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic in the polyaryletherketone (PAEK) family, with high heat resistance, chemical resistance and the ability to withstand high mechanical loads. PEKK's glass transition temperature (Tg) is 162°C.

Applications

Oxford Performance Materials manufactures PEKK-based parts for Boeing for use in its Starliner space taxis, using additive manufacturing. The parts are claimed to be as strong as aluminum at about 40 percent of the weight. In addition PEKK resists fire and radiation.
