Pocket Bicycles was the name of a manufacturer of portable bicycles located in Massachusetts in the 1970s. While resembling many of the small-wheel folding designs of the time, the bicycle was distinctive in having no down tube, merely a cable that was kept under tension by the weight of the rider, thus saving weight and space. In addition, the cable provided a degree of vertical flex in the frame which acted as a suspension system, thereby absorbing much of the bumpiness of the ride normally associated with small wheel bicycles.
