Platt Bridge in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, is a residential area to the south of Ince-in-Makerfield and North of Abram. Platt Bridge is a strong community with a strong identity. After many pub closures the main two left are "The King Billy" and "Kesses". It Has a long established Traditional Barber Shop "The Barber Shop or Mikes" opposite the Community Centre, Walthew Lane. There are a few main shops such as the famous "Shergills" although this shop has changed hands a few times it is still known as this, a few bookies a Co-Op, an Iceland and a car wash. The Post Office has the famous "Handy Mans" next door once owned by the legendary "John Robberts" now sadly passed on but is run by his sons still.
