A 1972 film about a pair of wildlife photographer Terry and her brother Art Greene go the rainforest located in Venezuela who are stalked by a homicidal maniac. They hire Jim Pendrake to guide them through the jungle. However, the trio run afoul of evil local hunter Caribe. It is unrelated to the better-known Piranha series.

Piranha 3DD is a 2012 American 3D comedy horror film and sequel to the 2010 film Piranha 3D. It is directed by John Gulager from a screenplay by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. It stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, David Koechner, Chris Zylka, Katrina Bowden, Gary Busey, Christopher Lloyd, and David Hasselhoff. Production began on April 27, 2011 with a release scheduled for November 23, 2011, but a month prior to release this date was revised to an unspecified 2012 date. The film was eventually released in the UK on May 11, 2012 and in the U.S. on June 1, 2012. —°

Possible Next Installment, a second sequel to the 2010 remake

Even though the film gained only negative reviews, there have been talks of a sequel. Most likely to be released in early 2017, the next installment will most likely be released straight-to-DVD, and focus more on the ending of the first film, where the Piranha Queen will be the main antagonist.
