Piper Mary O’Neill (born 21 July 1983, Portland, Oregon USA) is a beauty queen, model, presenter and charity worker. A dual American-Australian citizen, she won the title of Mrs. Australia International 2015 on 23 December 2014, becoming the first Australian pageant contestant to be crowned while pregnant.

Early life

Piper O'Neill was born on July 21, 1983 in Portland, Oregon USA, to American mother, Susan O’Neill, and Australian father, Anthony O’Neill. She attended Gresham High School and was a former varsity cheerleader captain. O'Neill graduated from Gresham High School in 2001.

Mrs Australia International 2015

Piper O’Neill was crowned Mrs Australia International 2015 on December 23, 2014. O'Neill was the first pageant winner in Australian history to be crowned while pregnant, giving birth to her second child only a month after winning the title.

O'Neill's goal as Mrs Australia has been to raise awareness about positive body image for women, especially mothers. She has spoken out against the pressure on women to return to their pre-baby weight and shared her story about the difficulties she faced dealing with body image after her first child,

O'Neill's charity focus as Mrs Australia has been raising awareness about Look Good Feel Better, a community service program which helps cancer patients to manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.

Mrs International Pageant

The Mrs International pageant is open to married women from 21 to 56 years old. Fifty per cent of the contestant's overall score is based on an interview where they discuss their community and charity work; each contestant has the opportunity to select a platform of her choice that she spends the year promoting. The other fifty per cent is based on the fitness wear and evening gown sections (25% each). The contestants' husbands are a direct part of the show and will escort their wives on stage for the evening gown section.

Charity Work

Since 2009 O'Neill has been a volunteer for Look Good Feel Better. Look Good Feel Better is a community service program dedicated to teaching cancer patients how to better manage the appearance related side effects caused by cancer treatments. Women participate in a practical workshop which covers skin care, make up, and head wear demonstrations, with the goal to helping them feel better and more confident. The workshops are offered at over 180 hospitals across Australia and in over 26 countries across the world

Since the age of 9, O'Neill has been involved with many different charity organisations across the world including; The Touch of Goodness Foundation, The Cancer Council, Ovarian Cancer Australia, and The National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Career

O'Neill began performing at a young age and was signed to her first modelling agency at the tender age of 3. Over the course of her career she has been featured in numerous TV commercials, print and editorial campaigns, and has been on the cover several magazines including ‘Mother and Baby’, Australia’s number 1 parenting magazine. She is also a regular model on TVSN, Australia’s home shopping channel.

Personal life

On June 21, 2010, O’Neill married Jordan Green, a financial advisor from Sydney who she had dated for four years prior. The couple met a year after O’Neill moved to Sydney. The two wed in a small ceremony on the island of Oahu in Hawaii in front of close family and friends. Jordan and Piper have two children, Elsie and Taylor
