Pine Telephone System was founded in early 1900's in Halfway, Oregon, as a telephone cooperative. In 2001, the company expand its telecommunication service by providing DSL Internet. As of March 2014, 96% of Pine Telephone's customers have Broadband Internet. The company services Pine Eagle Charter School, the town's local school, and the Halfway Library.
