His Honour Judge Peter Carr is an English judge.

Peter Car graduated from Birmingham University with an LLB degree in law in 1976. He was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1976. Carr was appointed a Recorder in 2001. In 2007, aged 52, he was appointed a Circuit Judge, sitting on the Midland Circuit. Carr was based at Birmingham Crown Court. He has also sat as a circuit judge at Coventry and Warwick Crown Courts. Carr has passed sentence in many criminal cases at Birmingham, Coventry and Warwick Crown Courts.

In a recent case of child grooming via Facebook, Carr observed:

The worrying thing is that I have before me someone who does not think there is anything wrong in what he did and that the authorities had over-reacted to what had happened. The report says he would quite like to work at Butlins. That would bring him into contact with children. You knew her from a very early age, as the Facebook exchange makes plain, and it follows you knew her age. You knew, or ought to have known, she was vulnerable. You told the probation officer that in your view the authorities over-reacted when this matter came to their attention. They were not. The law is designed to protect that young girl from the sort of attention and behaviour you exhibited towards her. There was in this case grooming, there was a breach of trust, sexual images were solicited and procured, and she was vulnerable. The conclusion at the conclusion of the pre-sentence report is unrealistic. There has to be a custodial sentence, and there can be no question of suspending it.
