Plot
After she and her grandfather run into financial trouble, a young woman (forced by a thief to wear his male clothes) tries to earn something selling newspapers screaming loud false news to advertise them:
A young doctor argued that "truth is the mothermilk of the civilisation", throws the news papers and tries to go away on his car, blocked by her who leads him to destroy a telephone booth,
Arrested still wearing those boys clothes and a peruke found in the poket of the throusers of the thief, she and grandfather are dragged in front of an understanding but severe judge who impose them to pay the telephone booth.
The doctor, moved by the tears of the 'boy' for having caused such a damage to her grandfather, asks his garage manager to hire 'him' and takes hidden in his account the fine.
When she discovers the doctor to have not clients, she starts help him to find some in daring ways. The doctor understands she not to be a boy and she will discover he to have helped them secretly when he was still ignoring her to be a girl, which brings them to a 'happy end'!
Production
The film was made by German-based subsidiary of the American studios Universal Pictures, whom Gaal was under contract to. The rise of the Nazi Party mean that Gaal could no longer work in Germany, so production of her films were switched to Vienna and Budapest.
Its plot was drawn from a stage play by Sándor Nádas. The film's sets were designed by art director Márton Vincze. Josef von Báky, later a leading director, worked as assistant director on the film.
