Perumudivakkam (Tamil: பெருமுடிவக்கம்) is small village on the outskirts of Chennai, and a developing residential area in North Chennai, a metropolitan city in Tamil Nadu, India. It is Located Northwest Chennai in Tiruvallur District near to the proposed Smart City Ponneri. It is 29 km from the Chennai Koyambedu terminus and 10 km from Red Hills Bus Terminus.

Perumudivakkam has a temple for Sri KothandaRama and the temple is connected with Ramayana. When Sri Rama was proceeding towards Ayothaya with Sita Devi after the war with Ravana, he happened to pass through this place. This place was then called as Magudabishakam.
Perumudiavkkam is located on the chennai thirupathi main road just about 4 km from Kannigaipair junction. This temple is located just 40 km from the Chennai. from CMBT you have buses 514 on plat form no 5 up to kannigaipair (or) Inside mofussil bus stand plat form no 4, you have buses to utthukottai get down at kannigaipair. From kannigaipair you have frequent share auto to reach temple. Perumudivakkam has a beautiful temple for Sri KothandaRama and the temple is connected with Ramayana. Sri Rama is passing through his place here said by hereditary ancestors. Sri Rama and the place came to be known as magudabishakam means pattabishakam to rama, which later changed as perumudivakkam. Later, an ancient sri rama devotee called Sri P.R.RANGANAYAKI RANGASWAMY & Sri P.R.RANGASAMY IYENGAR (1897) wished to construct a temple for Sri Rama at this place Perumudivakkam and made a temple for the Rama Lord and become the first hereditary trustee of the sri kothandarama swamy devasthanam.
During his son Sri P.R.RAMAKRISHNA IYENGAR & P.R.VEDAMAL RAMAKRISHNAN (HEREDITERY TRUSTEE) (1914 - 1998) period renovated this temple and made it bigger, and annual brahmotsavam was done in a very large scale. the sri rama on the top of various vahanas with wonderful alankarams were being performed.
Sri. Er. P.R.SAMPATHRAMAN IYENGAR IS BEEN FUNCTIONING AS HEDETERY TRUSTEE FROM SINCE 1998, HE EXTEND TO CONDUCT TWO GRAND SAMPROKSHANAM WAS BEEN DONE BY Sri. P.R.S.MYTHLI SAMPATHARAMAN AND Sri Er. P.R. SAMPATHARAMAN IYENGAR HEREDITRY TRUSTEE (03.06.2001. & 20.5.2013) AND OLD GOPURAM WAS RENOVATED IN 2001, AND 16 PILLAR MANDAPAN WAS STRENGTHEND, KANADI ARAI, YAGA SALAI, AND OLD VAHANA MANDAPAM WAS PERFORMED IN A LARGE SCALE BY HIM.
HIS EFFORT CARRIED TO 2013 TO CONSTRUCT A NEW SRI SEETHARAMA VAHANA MANDAPAM, NEW THIRU THEIR, NEW DWAJASTHAMBAM COPPER KAVASAM WAS ALSO BEEN DONE, TILES FOR THE SURROUNDING AND INSIDE, NEW VAHANAMS LIKE HAMSA VAHANA , MUTHUPANDAL VAHANA , KARPAGA VRUSHAM VAHANA , SARVABOOPALA VAHANA , PUNYAKOTI VIMANAM VAHANAM ARE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE ANNUAL BROMOSTAVAM was included by him.His dream to construct a 3 tire rajagopuram, was started work on 11-12-13, on an estimate of Rs 2700000/- with in short period of 1 year this dream has come true by great support of astigas. samproshanam was made to rajagopuram 3 tire 45 feet height, with various exclusive srimath ramayanam sculptures, on 02-02-2015. by blessings of sri kothandaramaswamy and great effort by him.
Perumidivakkam also has a 1000 - 2000 year old temple for Lord Shiva called as Sri Kaiveachu Parvathi Paramaswarar Temple, which has been described by Thirughnasambanthar in Thevaram. Here the Moolavar is Sri Kaiveachu Parvathi Paramaswarar and Utchavar is Sri Kaiveachu Parvathi Paramaswarar. Kaiveachu Parvathi Thayaar appears here in this tiruthalam. The historical name of this temple is Sri Kaiveachu Parvathi Paramaswarar Temple. The Temple is very clean and neat.
Perumudivakkam Village lies across MDR 740 (Major District Road) which connects Kannigaipair to Vengal, Seethancherry, Poondi and then Tiruvallur.
