Pedro de Roxas Acevedo was a Spanish military officer, and landowner in Buenos Aires during the Viceroyalty of Peru.
Biography
Pedro de Roxas was born in Canary Islands, (Spain), had arrived at the Port of Buenos Aires in 1612 from Cádiz. Roxas was married to doña María de Vega, daughter of Diego de Vega. His sons Thomas de Roxas and Amador de Roxas were also military.
Pedro de Roxas Acevedo served as Alcalde, Regidor and Lieutenant General of Governor of Buenos Aires. He received very large land grants in Buenos Aires, being considered one of the richest men of his time.
